Nicole Winter was born in Munich, Germany. There she studied at the Munich Music Academy with Alfons Kontarsky and Erik Werba.
Between 1984 and 1987 she was an associate professor at the Music Academies in Munich and Salzburg.
Since that time she has worked exclusively as a free-lance song and chamber music accompanist.
Since 1987 she has been consistently engaged to accompany contestants at the ARD Competition in Munich and the International Vocalist Competition in Hertogenbosch.
Between 1994 and 1997 she was engaged as a repetitor and pianist for the Bavarian Radio Chorus.
Miss Winter has won prizes at the Mozart Competition in Würburg, the German Music Competition in Bonn and the International Competition for Song Accompaniment in Den Haag.
She has done recordings at almost all of the German radio stations, and played for cd productions for Harmonia Mundi and cpo. She has appeared with well known ensembles and soloists. Recently she played two song recitals for Thomas Quasthoff.
